Blessings of Family

Blessings of Family

In church I teach valiant 10 and 11 years old. This years primary theme is "Families are Forever." I am so grateful to belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is a wonderful feeling of knowing who I am, where I am going, and what I have to look forward to in life after earth. I know that The Family: A Proclamation to the World was inspired by a prophet of God because of the eternal principles that can only make us happy. I know that the Prophet Thomas S. Monson is a prophet of God and receives guidance and counsel through revelation from our Heavenly Father just as in times of old. I know that Jesus Christ is the head of His church and it is through his Prophets and Apostles that he speaks, "...whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my servants, it is the same (D&C 1:38)" I am so grateful for eternal families and that God intended for us to live forever with our families as part of His plan. I am so grateful for the Savior in my life and what he has done for me. I am so grateful to be part of a family that remembers the Lord their God.

"Rise up and follow in the footsteps of our Redeemer and Savior, and one day you will look back and be filled with eternal gratitude that you chose to trust the Atonement and its power to lift you up and give you strength." -Dieter F. Uchtdorf

A while ago we were able to see the Sacred Gifts Exhibit on the BYU campus. This is a FREE Exhibit that everyone should go to if they have the chance. The art is the original paintings of Carl Bloch, Heinrich Hofmann, and Frans Schwartz and depict the Life of the Savior. The art in the Exhibit have never been removed from their original places in churches around the world until now. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the original art from Sweden, Germany, Holland, and NYC. A few years ago BYU had a Carl Bloch only exhibit and had over 300,000 visitors and because of the success they have granted BYU another very rare opportunity to have this art from other artists and have Carl Bloch included again. Colby and I have been so blessed to be around so much family and love. We are going to miss everyone when we move to Texas for awhile, but are excited for the new adventure that awaits us. We have had so much fun getting together and hanging out with family. A couple of weeks ago we saw Greg, Nancy, Grandma and Grandpa Hazard, Jill, Madison, Andrew, Kaitlin, Hayden, Caleb, Donny, Alyssa, baby R and Courtney! Whew! Am I missing anyone? I am sorry if I am. Anyways, I wish I had pictures because we all had a blast! Madison introduced most of us to a new game called, "Heads up."  I loved it so much that I already downloaded the game and have told my side of the family all about it. I think I will be playing it a lot in the future. Thanks Madison! Speaking of family times, Donny and Alyssa spent the evening with us on Monday and we went to the ice castles! It was so much fun and I recommend it to anyone else who may be in the area. First, we went when it was light out and then an hour later we went back to see the ice castles at night. Check out the pictures! Again, I'm so grateful for family and for all of you!

Watch out for the polar Bear!

They had ice tunnels that you could crawl through and then at the top you went down an ice slide. Super fun!

Colby went too, but Donny stayed behind because he had the sleeping baby.

    1. This is in Midway, Utah, but they also have one in CO and NH. But that's it! But you should check out their website (icecastles.com) and see how long they stay open. Maybe they are still here when you come down to visit? By the way, do you know the official dates that you are coming? I'm so excited to see you!! We are going to visit Ty, Cambria, and the gang for presidents weekend. If it is not to far of a drive you guys should come too!
