rain, rain, and more rain

Rain, rain and more rain! We have had a lot of of it! I'm actually enjoying it! The thunder and lightning is my favorite part. But I don't like driving in it. But that is exactly what we did, so we could see Griffin, Ashland and there super cute girls! We drove up Thursday night which I was debating to even  go because Wednesday (just the day before) they had a ton of tornadoes! But we pulled out, actually just I pulled out the smart phone and we braved the weather with our radar and weather apps. Its amazing that we have technology today that allows us to plan our trips around the storm! We finally arrived super early Friday morning and we enjoyed the weekend! Ashland made great food, we played games, which Griffin killed us in just about every one! And played lots of games with the girls including duck, duck, goose that even  had all us of quaking as ducks and yelling or honking as a goose! Saw lots of bison in the prairies, and enjoyed the very green hillsides! It was great fun! I didn't get a lot of pictures, but I wish I would have.

One of the storms we passed on the way up. We hit the tail end of it! Doesn't look bad in this picture, but believe it was not fun driving in it. The clouds coming towards us were huge and dark red from all the dust!

Found this baby bird while cleaning up the yard after a some thunderstorms.

The best picture I have of all three girls at the duck pond. Darcy was doing the potty dance! But she did awesome! No accidents here!
Since we have moved I have been  embracing my crafty side. I have never really been that crafty, but it's really fun and now that I have time I am really enjoying it! I got an awesome deal on a sewing machine! $30 from goodwill! I am usually not impressed with goodwill's and the one in our town is not that great, but when I went to CO for a visit they opened a new one in my hometown! It was awesome! I got some greats deals for really nice stuff!

My new friend! It works great! It's just not threading the bobbin, but I will figure it out.
A really fun craft I did for mother's day was make these Polaroid magnets! I went ahead and bought this chalkboard/magnet board off of clearance at hobby lobby. I bought a big one for me and then bought a smaller one for mother's day.

I really like how this turned out! I have my magnets and printed out a bunch of cute quotes. Colby helped me drill holes on either side, so I could add the twine and clips and then  I glued the flower on it too! It hangs nicely in our apartment and reminds me of all the good things!
Here is the one I made for my mother-in-law! It's a smaller version of the one I made because it fit in the mailbox easier :) Sorry for my clumsy handwriting! I very much dislike writing with chalk! lol
This picture below is super cute and way  easy to make. I got an  email from thedatingdivas.com about a mother's day printable. They were super cute pictures with quotes that you could print out. They were all about being a mother and  having kids. I don't have kids at the moment, so I downloaded the pictures, picked the one I liked best and used a little it of editing and added a new quote. This quote was on Ashland's wall at her home and I loved it, so I used it here! It says, " Life takes you to exciting places...but love brings you home." If you want to see the original quotes and free printable's  from the dating divas click Here. They  are super cute and would make perfect decorations for a baby girls room!

Also, I decided I needed to post all the delicious meals I find. A lot of people ask where I get them,  so I'm just going to start posting them on my recipe page, so you can all enjoy the deliciousness!

Other than  that, we have been really liking where we live and our new friends. We are so grateful that Colby gets every other Friday off, so we can leave for the long weekend and be outside! These next coming weeks we will be traveling again, so I can't wait!
