Lately

Last Sunday, Colby got into a "let's get rid of stuff" mood. It was actually fun. We went through our clothes and by the time we were done we had two full bags going to D.I, one bag to my teenage cousin, one bag going to Weldon for family to look through, and one bag full of old t-shirts that I may or may not get around into making a t-shirt quilt. In all, it was a success.

Our little apartment is ready for Christmas. We have a small 4 ft Christmas tree on our desk decked out in lights and fun ornaments from Colby's childhood. It is fun pulling all of Colby's childhood memories from a box every year for our tree. If not, then we probably wouldn't have any ornaments until we hit the after Christmas sales! We definitely want to keep this tradition in our own family. Not only do we have a tree, but we have stockings, the nativity and tinsel around the house to make it merry and bright!! We are very excited to go to California and celebrate Christmas!

However, before we head off to Christmas we are stuck here in Utah. Colby is finishing his first draft for his thesis and I continue to work as a nanny and at my internship. We are hoping to leave for the holidays soon, but it all depends on my internship schedule. I hope we can leave asap! Although we have been busy and Colby works til about 8pm every night, we still make time for each other! We just have late night date night! This past week for some reason was full of them! On Wednesday we went to the BYU vs Utah basketball game. We had fun even if BYU did lose. The atmosphere was fun. It was very very loud! Then on Thursday the MOA (Museumn of Art at BYU) had a Christmas night. We enjoyed  pondering the painting by Brian  Kershisnik. BYU has the original which was donated for all to see. If you have the chance to see it you should. It is beautiful. Click ---->HERE to see the painting!!

To finish up the week, we went to visit my grandma Laura and then headed to Draper and had dinner at grandpa and grandma Hazards last night! Grandma makes some of the best food. Even if she thinks she doesn't! Then we to the Charles Dickens festival in Sandy and watched Caleb perform with his choir in the festival. They all did well.

Today was the Christmas program for our ward! The songs were all beautiful and reminded us of the true meaning of Christmas. Colby enjoyed singing all the songs in the choir!

We hope you all are well and that the real Spirit of Christmas reaches you wherever you are! Merry Christmas and be safe during the holidays!
