Lately

Last Sunday, Colby got into a "let's get rid of stuff" mood. It was actually fun. We went through our clothes and by the time we were done we had two full bags going to D.I, one bag to my teenage cousin, one bag going to Weldon for family to look through, and one bag full of old t-shirts that I may or may not get around into making a t-shirt quilt. In all, it was a success.

Our little apartment is ready for Christmas. We have a small 4 ft Christmas tree on our desk decked out in lights and fun ornaments from Colby's childhood. It is fun pulling all of Colby's childhood memories from a box every year for our tree. If not, then we probably wouldn't have any ornaments until we hit the after Christmas sales! We definitely want to keep this tradition in our own family. Not only do we have a tree, but we have stockings, the nativity and tinsel around the house to make it merry and bright!! We are very excited to go to California and celebrate Christmas!

However, before we head off to Christmas we are stuck here in Utah. Colby is finishing his first draft for his thesis and I continue to work as a nanny and at my internship. We are hoping to leave for the holidays soon, but it all depends on my internship schedule. I hope we can leave asap! Although we have been busy and Colby works til about 8pm every night, we still make time for each other! We just have late night date night! This past week for some reason was full of them! On Wednesday we went to the BYU vs Utah basketball game. We had fun even if BYU did lose. The atmosphere was fun. It was very very loud! Then on Thursday the MOA (Museumn of Art at BYU) had a Christmas night. We enjoyed  pondering the painting by Brian  Kershisnik. BYU has the original which was donated for all to see. If you have the chance to see it you should. It is beautiful. Click ---->HERE to see the painting!!

To finish up the week, we went to visit my grandma Laura and then headed to Draper and had dinner at grandpa and grandma Hazards last night! Grandma makes some of the best food. Even if she thinks she doesn't! Then we to the Charles Dickens festival in Sandy and watched Caleb perform with his choir in the festival. They all did well.

Today was the Christmas program for our ward! The songs were all beautiful and reminded us of the true meaning of Christmas. Colby enjoyed singing all the songs in the choir!

We hope you all are well and that the real Spirit of Christmas reaches you wherever you are! Merry Christmas and be safe during the holidays!

Season of Giving and Thankgiving

I was trying to make this video show up at the bottom, but blogs are annoying sometimes and don't do what I want it to do, so here it is at the top! This funny video is from when we went to CO for Thanksgiving and we are playing a really fun "game" with my little brother. :)

I love this time of year! I love being around friends and family and laughing our heads off! Two weekends ago we headed up to Rexburg, Idaho for my cousins wedding. While there we are able to visit not only my family, but Colby's as well! We had a blast! We went sledding, and watched Studio C and Jon Schmidt videos!
Katie loves Colby. she wouldn't let me give her hug! Only Colby could hold her.

It snowed in Rexburg! I love the snow! It looked like Dippin' Dots ice cream.

Xi dropped his gum in the snow. He was not to happy about it lol
For Thanksgiving we drove to Colorado! We had perfect driving weather, but would not have minded if it snowed over the break, but it didn't. But that did not stop us from having a fire going in the wood burning stove every night! We played in our annual Turkey Bowl from the ward and I scored a touchdown! Oh yeah!
My dad bought a new smoker and our Turkey for Thanksgiving was the first to try it out! It was absolutely delicious and very moist! yyyyyuuummm!

The best two people in the world

Our Thanksgiving feast!
The next few days we went shopping, and then we helped my dad put up the Christmas lights! We also had a fun time playing games (scroll to the top for the youtube video and find out)!

My little siblings were afraid for my dad and Spence being on the roof.

Yeah for Christmas!!

Even though we won't be in CO for Christmas at least we made it on the Christmas card (that is if they get them out in time...)!!

I am so thankful for my family and all the blessings that the Lord gives me everyday! I am so thankful for my wonderful husband and everything he does for me. Most of all, I am thankful and grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ and his atoning sacrifice for all the world! He is my friend, teacher, and exemplar in so many ways. I am grateful for the knowledge of the gospel that helps me to be a better person everyday.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with love and happiness! I wish you all the best this Christmas season and hope we can all remember what it is all about!

These past few weeks not much has happened. I continue to go to work everyday and Colby goes to school. However, I have time today to write because I have been coughing up my lung! At least it feels like it. But I am hoping it will go away soon because coughing all night and not getting much sleep for me or Colby is not working out well, nor is it welcome. It is the cold weather that has put me under the weather. However, I the love the snow and this cold of mine will soon pass!

Before I got sick,Colby, Donny, baby R and I went on a hike to Upper Falls which is by Bridal Veil Falls. It was really neat to see the Icicles forming around and on the Falls. Once winter comes full on Upper Falls will be nothing but ice!

Then this past weekend we went to Logan, UT and watched the new Warren Miller Film and with it we got our free day passes to five different ski resorts! Colby and I are stoked to get back on the snow!

In other news, Mitt Romney just spoke at BYU for today's forum address! Colby actually went  to see him in person. I just watched it from home because I'm sick.  It was about life lessons and he gave some really neat and fun examples from when he campaigned from the last presidential election. He was very entertaining and fun to listen too! Gave some really good advice about keeping it all in perspective! If you have not watched it yet click ---> HERE.

We hope all is well with everyone and look forward to seeing you all during Christmas break! And if you have not updated your blog in while you probably should now.....

HaZaRD HaLLoWeEn

The past two weeks Colby and I have both been traveling to various places, but never at the same time! It is quite irritating that we both have to be somewhere for a few days or more and then right when we get back the  other person leaves for their trip. For his first trip, Colby went to Vancouver, Canada for a geology conference. When  he got back he said he would never ever want to live there. I saw the pictures and  agreed. So glad that is over.

For my first trip, I went to Colorado for a few days because my little sister was in the Miss Colorado pageant and my best friend had her wedding celebration! It was soo much fun (well most of it....my older sister accidentally melted a hole in my little sister's dress for the pageant and scrambling to find a new dress in time was no fun, but everything did work out).

Grandpa and little John had lots of fun and giggles!

Spencer trying to prove to Britt that he can finally "beat" her up because he is  bigger than  her.

My best friend, Maria! The wedding was wonderful! I am so glad I was able to go! And Maria looked beautiful!

Husband and  Wife! Her dress was gorgeous!
Even baby John had fun at the wedding

Beautiful Lexi in  her evening gown!

We had so much together! Even though she did not win she had a great time!

For Halloween, Colby and  I dressed up this year! We kind of missed last year and I decided that I am  not going to miss it again! It was so much fun and easy to do! And we carved a pumpkin :)

Colby carving away

Our baby girl pumpkin. Our original plan was not to tease everyone about a prego announcement. It actually was not even  our idea. It was a friends idea becuase she thought the pumpkin already looked like a baby's head, so we went with it :)

Lots of Hazard Adventures!

Lots has happened over the past two weeks! I am just going to let the pictures do the talking!

We went exploring in Vivian canyon and found a tree house and some very friendly horses! We are going to make sure we have carrots for the horses next time.

Next, over General Conference weekend, my sisters came out for a visit! We had a little bbq with the family and we went on a small hike to Battlecreek Falls.

Then, while Kl, Taylor, Mom Hazard and Fife came out for a visit we went on a bike ride! We rented Tandem bikes from Outdoors unlimited and rode down Provo Canyon!
Ryker always looking behind

Donny and Alyssa pulling Fife. Ryker and Fife were together at the beginning of this little excursion, but we soon realized it was not meant to be LOL

Can you see everyone?

The hazards...minus the little ones because you can't see them in this pic
Our next adventure takes us to the costume museum at BYU.

This is Christine's dress in the masquerade ball scene. No photography was allowed, but Colby didn't know and was able to get a picture of this! It was so cool to see tons of costumes from the movies.

The nickel arcade. Mom Hazard and Colby playing Terminator :)

The next day we had a small celebration for Fife and Taylor's upcoming birthdays! We had tons of food and it was so good!
Taylor just couldn't wait to cut his cake! :)

The following day we went to Cornbelly's at Thanksgiving point and enjoyed pig races, pumpkin bowling, hayrides, dodge ball (Colby and I failed miserably), giant slides, and haunted corn mazes, castles, creatures, and clowns! However, I would not say Colby and KL enjoyed the haunted stuff as much ;)
Cute Family!

Can you guess the theme?

Our next stop takes us to Logan, UT where we visited Troy and Aubree and watched a football game!
Maysa and Colby....Both so cute!

Utah State vs. Air Force Academy

The Gang!

I only live about 15 minutes from the Air Force Academy, so they are my hometown team! However, I guess Maysa and I can still be friends. Air Force did terrible this past game anyways.

Sunday Morning with the Hazards

Our last adventure for the time being is hiking the Y. We have hiked it before, but never at night and when they light it up for homecoming week. It was a blast and the weather was quite perfect. I'm glad I was able to do this!

Top of the Y! Gorgeous views! And this is the last picture of my long hair. I got it  cut yesterday. More about that another time!
