Procrastinating another research paper

Right now, I am procrastinating my research paper for class. No surprise! I would much rather write this blog than write a paper. So I am! This past weekend was my Grandma Laura's 76th Birthday. I love her so much and I do not know how much longer she will be with us. Currently, she is fine and staying in there, but for the past 2 1/2 years her health has drastically taken a turn for the worst, and we almost lost her quite a few times, but she has held on and I am very happy she is still with us.

Colby and I have made a new goal, to visit every temple in Utah! This may be our only chance because after we graduate in April 2014 we probably won't be in Utah again. We still don't know where we are going, but Colby had interviews a few weeks ago and we are still waiting to hear back from the companies. So keep us in your prayers because Colby has worked so hard to find a job and now it is just a waiting game. Anyways, back to Temples. We want to visit and do work in every Temple in Utah. So far we have done well, but since we will only be here for less than half a year we need to get moving! However, the only times we really have are on Saturdays because we have to travel far for the ones we still have on our list. Next week, is Oquirrh Mountain Temple! I am really excited for this one because several years ago I walked through this Temple before it was dedicated, and have not been inside ever since!

Oh, I have great news! I got a job at the BYU Bakery! Everyday for a few hours I get to bake brownies and cookies. I am really excited for this because first of all, I love to bake. Second, I get paid to bake. Lastly, baking is a stress reliever for me, which helps when I need a break from school. Now I know what you are all thinking, "Be careful, you might gain a few pounds." I know, but there is no need to think this. I already have figured it out. Since I only bake brownies and cookies I will get sick of them quick and I will not want to eat them. And besides, the best part about baking is eating the batter or dough, and I definitely am not allowed to do that. So, I think I will be fine! I start on Thursday.

Hope all is well with everyone and I hope you enjoy this great Fall season! The colors are the best! Oh, and don't forget to make Pumpkin Stew! Colby and I have adopted this tradition because it is a great idea and very delicious! We made it this past Sunday for Linger Longer at church and it was a hit! Everyone loved it!

Also, my little sister, Katie, turned 3 on Sunday (Oct. 20th). I am so happy she is part of my family! She is so lovable and full life! She talks all the time and started preschool on Monday. She was so excited because she sees everyone else go to school everyday, and kept asking/begging to go. However, her first day she did not understand that it was just not play time like at nursery for church, so she was a bit disappointed, but is starting to get a hang of things.
This was 2 1/2 years ago. Glad you are still with us Grandma and Happy Birthday!!

Pumpkin Stew! YUM!

Happy Birthday to this little lady! This was from when Colby and I lived in CO for the summer. She loves Colby! One day, Colby left for work early in the morning around 6. And then I heard tiny feet running down the hall towards our bedroom, and Katie bursts open the door (keep in my mind I was trying to sleep) and yells, "COLBY!" When I told her Colby was not here, but at work she simply left. Whenever I talk to her on the phone she always asks, "Where's Colby?" Colby is clearly her favorite! ;)

She was tall enough to ride, but since she was a couple months shy of being three so they would not let her go!

Weekend in Logan, Utah!!

This past weekend we went to Logan for General Conference and the BYU game! Troy and Aubree were so sweet to let us stay with them. It was nice to get to know Aubree better and her cooking is amazing and very, very yummy! We were totally spoiled! The BYU game had a great outcome; however, I could not get too excited and go crazy because I was in the student section for USU and they don't like BYU fans very much, but it was still so much fun!

On Saturday, after the morning session we took a drive up Logan canyon and made it to this beautiful lake. We saw some deer and did a little four-wheeling to make it to a little camp, and had a fire to roast hotdogs. Then, the boys did some mountain biking! I think they had fun. Aubree and I went to Deseret Book for Ladies Night and stayed for bit and looked around. They had some really good brownies with peppermint frosting.  I need to find this recipe because they were delicious!

Once we got home and the boys were finished with the Priesthood session we watched the movie "World War Z," which I do not suggest to anyone who doesn't like scary movies. I did not want to watch this movie, but gave into husband and brother-in-law peer pressure. Needless to say I did not enjoy it very much, and I made Colby hold me all night because Zombies are freaky!

Sunday was another great conference day and the talks were amazing! I can't wait to get the November Ensign, so I can reread them. Between the sessions we went over to the house that Troy and Aubree want to buy, but are still waiting to hear if they get it nor not. It was so cute and they definitely will have a lot more space and a bigger kitchen for Aubree to make her delicious food! We hope they get it! Colby also got to ride Troy's new motorcycle, a Kawasaki Ninja! He said it is super fast, like a ninja.

We drove back Sunday right after the last session. I wish we could have stayed longer. It was so good to see family!

Here are some pictures! I wish I had more of Troy and Aubree, but their pics are on their phones. We will get more next time!

The fall colors were beautiful in Logan, but of course these pictures don't capture it!

This would have been a great picture if I had rolled down my window!

Aubree and I rode the bikes for a bit, but we didn't actually mountain bike, and of course, we did not get a pic of the boys who did!
